Free 1st Thursday

1st Free Thursday! Amy came and joined me and we went to the Seattle Art Museum. There was a special exhibit by KURT - who is Kurt we asked? (for shame!) Well - after a quick walk-through of the Kurt Cobain exhibit we moved on to the more traditional yet more peaceful section of the museum. Very fun. I wished I'd been quicker - this is a calmer photo of Amy, only minutes before she was helping push a car backwards up Seneca - where was my camara then?

Tuesday March 16th - First Hill
A brisk walk through the WIND!!! up Seneca to First Hill. It is amusing - you march up a little hill, then hit a street called "Summit" with an apartment building named "Summit" as if you've climbed a mighty mountain. The First Baptist church is lovely. What is the large Tudor style house on the corner of Minor and Seneca?
Forgot my walking shoes today - bummer. Sore feet.

street corners
Challenges to walking on your lunch hour
1. Stoplights every block
2. who are those guys out stopping everyone on the street corners with questionnaires in their hands? I usually pretend I'm on the phone because I like avoidant behavior.
Good things
1. Lots of hills
This picture is from a hike at Rainier last summer - nothing to do with my post except I'm trying to learn how to upload photos.
New job - downtown Seattle - very exciting! Unfortunately now I sit all day and have started putting on inches. So.....walking!
Are there others who walk on their lunch hour? What have you seen - where do you go?
My first adventure - I made a pilgrimage to the Hotel Panama. I recently read On the Hotel of Bitter and Sweet and was curious to see that the hotel is still there - as is the Kobe Terrace Park across the street.
I'm technically challenged, but if I learn how to post photos - I will.
